We raise our chickens free range on pasture. Our chickens eat fresh grass, chase bugs and scratch in the dirt. They get exercise, fresh air and sunshine daily. |
| They have the protection of an electric fence during the day as they range outside of their moveable shelter. The fence is moved weekly to give them new, fresh green pasture. They are also fed certified organic feed that contains no antibiotics, hormones or pesticides. The whole process is an environmentally sound way to raise chickens. | ![]() |

Manure is spread throughout the pasture by the chickens. No manure builds up to pollute the ground water. The chickens live a natural lifestyle, unlike conventionally raised poultry crowded into small cages in large buildings, away from fresh air and sunlight. |
| What are the benefits of pastured poultry?
Small natural sized groupings, constant access to fresh, green growing pasture and fresh air and sunshine reduce stress on chickens allowing them to mature naturally. No residue from pesticides, drugs or other chemicals is possible since none are needed or ever used. All this, coupled with exercise and greens in the diet, substantially increase the nutritional value of pastured poultry, particularly in Omega-3 Fatty Acids and in Vitamin A, with a significant reduction of total fat content. Best of all, these chickens have excellent texture and taste. Those who say that anything without much flavor "tastes sort of like chicken" have forgotten what real chicken is like. You, the buyer, are supporting local, small farms with this product. Not only does our family benefit from your purchase, but local grain farmers are able to market their organic corn and soybeans through our chickens. |
